Creative strategy, communications, marketing, project management, and design for Red Rocks Church. More than 10 years of professional design experience. Bachelor of Art in Visual Communications Design with a minor in Art History from Seattle Pacific University. Master's degree in Organizational Leadership & Communication from Belmont University.
I led the design of the branding system for the 2020 Presidential Debate at Belmont University—from helping create the proposal materials that landed the gig itself, to designing the logo, environmental branding, marketing, and countless other pieces of swag and collateral. As the final presidential debate of the 2020 election, it was a monumental project to be able to work on knowing it would be used to welcome the debaters as well as international attention to our campus. I am proud to have created and led a branding system that checked so many boxes—presidential, exciting for university students, and representative of the university.
I could go on and on about this project, but instead, I’ll point you to this article I wrote about the collaborative process of this project:
Designing a Brand System for the 2020 Presidential Debate
The 2018 Belmont University President’s Report celebrates the intentionality behind the University’s decisions to take on events, projects, and partnerships that set it apart from other universities, while highlighting the recent acquisition of a local design college and announcing Middle Tennessee’s first Bachelor of Architecture. To support the theme “Different By Design,” the report materials were designed to to mimic the multi-faceted, unique, and creative spirit of the University through a balance of varied visual motifs paired with a foundational stylistic framework.
I lead the design of the project and managed the production of three versions. The project was designed in a way that allowed the book to go on press all at once, swapping out a different version of the cover and adding in a list of donor names in order to satisfy the three versions required. The design utilizes six different papers and different page widths to further convey the theme of “Different By Design.”
This project was awarded a Tennessee College Public Relations Association GOLD award in the reports category as well as a Premier Print award by the Printing Industries of America.
Harnessing the theme of “Preparing Future ______” to communicate career paths the university prepares students for, I conceptualized and art-directed the look for this suite of billboards. Flat lay photography offered visual cues of each subject matter, which was further supported visually through a unique typeface. The final billboard art was produced by my teammates for billboards throughout the region.
I led the creative direction and production of the 2019 President’s Report for Belmont University. The book is organized by seasonal chapters, with design and print elements being reminiscent of classic books. Custom illustrations were designed by a member of our design team.
This 242 page manual was designed as a guide to help Red Rocks Church staff respond to care situations within the church congregation. In an effort to make intimidating subject matters less intimidating without becoming insincere, I employed a graphic use of color throughout the book—which also helped organize the different chapters and themes. I focused on finding a readable solution for the body copy that would be clear and simple. To make sure the manual would stand out to the staff, I took advantage of unique printing features, including a die cut and soft-touch coated cover, with vellum and heavier weight chapter dividers throughout the manual.
I helped redesign Belmont University’s alumni magazine, Circle Magazine. A clean framework was designed to allow future issues to be designed easily while maintaining a sense of consistency throughout the magazine and issues. I designed selected feature spreads.
The magazine’s redesign won a GOLD award by the Tennessee College Public Relations Association.
