2020 Presidential Debate

Role: Creative Direction and Design

I led design of the complete branding system for the 2020 Presidential Debate at Belmont University. I designed the logo, environmental elements, and numerous other deliverables while working with a team of designers to execute more than 160 different assets.

As the final presidential debate of the 2020 election, this event was a monumental project to be able to work on knowing it would be used to welcome the debaters as well as international attention to the university campus. My contribution ranged from helping create the proposal materials that landed the gig itself, to designing the logo, environmental branding, marketing, and countless other pieces of swag and collateral. I am proud to have created and led a branding system that checked so many boxes—it felt presidential, built excitement for university students, and represented the university’s branding well.

I could go on and on about this project, but instead, I’ll point you to this article I wrote about the collaborative process of this project: Designing a Brand System for the 2020 Presidential Debate.
